Ten Lives Cat Rescue is a small, volunteer-run organisation formed in July 2020, registered as a Company Limited by Guarantee in August 2020 and currently seeking registration as a charity.
The three principals involved in Ten Lives Cat Rescue are experienced rescue shelter volunteers, who saw at first hand the result of uncontrolled breeding among the stray and feral cat population: unhealthy colonies, unhealthy kittens and regular outbreaks of potentially fatal diseases which could be entirely prevented by timely vaccination.
The Lives Cat Rescue will work with local communities to identify and map the feral cat population of South Wicklow and Co. Wexford, and prioritise the areas of greatest need in order to initiate and support a comprehensive TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) programme. Neutering and vaccinating the adults will not only reduce the number of kittens born but also help cats in these feral colonies live fuller and healthier lives.
